Between May and July of 2010, Dragonfly Expeditions hosted a total of seven familiarization trips in and around Miami.  Three of them were held in conjunction with airlines that have added flights to Miami International Airport: May 22nd (Aireuropa with fifteen guests), June 4th (Air France with seven guests) and June 19th (Corsairfly with forty-five guests).  We are confident that the unique journeys we provided are increasing interest in the destination South Florida among travel professionals from Europe.

In addition, we hosted four familiarization trips for journalists that the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau had invited.  On May 14th six writers from Mexico, Brazil, Germany, UK, Canada and the US experienced the Everglades Backwater Tour hands-on (but only got their feet wet…).  You can listen to a resulting podcast (in German) here.  Seven journalists traveling with Thomas Cook from Germany and Austria were immersed into Miami’s Cuban culture on May 25th and July 21st.  You are able to read more about this FAM trip in our previous blog post.  And finally twenty-four French journalists hosted by Contact were taken out to the Everglades on June 19th to learn about Miccosukee Indian heritage.

We are grateful to have the opportunity to showcase South Florida’s unknown treasures and to have new potential visitors learn about the travel options beyond the bars and beaches!  Dragonfly Expeditions is looking forward to the resulting coverage in the upcoming months and will post it on our blog.
