Dragonfly Expeditions Requests ‘A Call to Arms’

The time has come for all who love the Florida Everglades and wish to see its ecosystems repaired, to take a stand.  The Everglades Skyway, an admittedly expensive proposal with two powerful benefits to Southern Florida, is at a crossroads.  The skyway (bridge), which is designed to provide a breathtaking view of the Everglades while simultaneously allowing water to flow underneath unimpeded, is engineered to reconnect the great Shark Valley Slough.  The reconnection will restore a more normal flow of water to the parched Southern Glades.  This major component of the Everglades restoration plan will undo some of the damage inflicted since the creation of the Tamiami Trail in 1923.  Everglades National Park has commissioned a study of the feasibility and desirability of lifting six miles of Tamiami Trail to create the Everglades Skyway.

Dragonfly Expeditions stands fully behind a 6.5-mile lift and even endorses the maximum distance possible.  We urge our friends, clients and supporters to do the same.  It is our firm belief that now is our collective opportunity to demonstrate a moment of greatness.  Shall we rise to the occasion?
